Do I need to have any experience to parasail?

Absolutely not! You don’t need experience to fly. If you can sit, you can fly!

What are the age restrictions for parasailing?

There is no age limit for parasailing, however we do not encourage children under the age of 2 to ride on the boat.

Are reservations recommended?

Reservations are REQUIRED. Boats fill up quickly during the summer season. All you need to make a reservation is a major credit card.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations may be made no less than 24 hours prior to your scheduled flight. If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled flight, you will be charged 50% of the total cost of your reservation.

Can I bring a camera, cell phone, or video equipment?

Yes, but please keep in mind that the ride can be quite WET at times. Bring these items at your risk. Participants can purchase a photo package containing 25-30 digital photos on a memory card which you can keep. Our photos are taken by the crew member with a 300mm zoom lens… we do all the work, you just enjoy the ride!

How should I dress to parasail?

You can wear anything you want, although we recommend bathing suits and/or beach attire. No shoes are allowed on the parasail boat.

Can two people go at the same time?

Yes! Some restrictions may apply. Wind and weather conditions change daily and can determine whether individuals can fly single or tandem.

Can three people go at the same time?

Yes, but there are weight limitations and some restrictions may apply. Again, wind and weather conditions change daily. The final decision will be made by the captain.

Do I need to know how to swim?

Absolutely not! Every participant is required to wear a lifejacket. The captain and crew are also trained in water rescue procedures.

How long are the rides?

The whole adventure takes anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half, depending on the number of passengers on the trip. The boat holds a maximum of 12 passengers who will take turns in the air. The time in the air is approximately 10-12 minutes.

Can I go along to watch?

Yes, IF SPACE IS AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF DEPARTURE. The cost to observe is $25.00. If you wish to change your mind once you are out on the boat, you can simply pay the difference to FLY. The only way to guarantee a spot to observe is to pay the full price to parasail.

Do you take off from the land or the water?

Neither, you take off and land directly on the boat. We do offer “dips” to those who may be a little more adventurous.

Banana Boat FAQs

How old do you have to be to go on a banana boat ride?

As a general rule, it is safe for children as young as 5 to go on a banana boat ride in Point Pleasant Beach. However, the current water conditions will be the major factor in deciding the minimum age for a banana boat ride. If you have young kids that want to have fun and ride, we recommend making a reservation before 11:00AM because the water is usually calmer in the morning. The final decision for the minimum age to ride the banana boat will be made by the captain.

Will I get wet on the banana boat ride?

In one word, YES. But we consider that the best part of banana boat rides in Point Pleasant Beach.

Where can we ride the banana boat in Point Pleasant Beach?

Banana boat rides are offered at our location at 35 Broadway. Be sure to call ahead to make reservations and check ocean conditions. Unfortunately we cannot pick you up from the shoreline.

Can I ask to go faster on the banana boat ride?

Absolutely! The crew member will teach you the simple communication symbols to use during you ride. The boat captain will always adjust the speed with safety in mind. If the water is calm and there are no small children aboard, hang on and we will take you for a ride!

Do I need to know how to swim?

Yes. Although you will be wearing a lifejacket, we highly suggest banana boaters are comfortable in the water, at least for a short period of time. Our United States Coast Guard licensed captains are highly skilled and trained in water safety and will be there to assist you if need be.

Will my kids fall off the banana boat during their ride?

There is always a chance that you may land in the water if you don’t hold on and especially if you ask to go the maximum speed. The higher the speed, the rougher the ride. Chances are that if you and your kids are asking for a faster ride, then falling off will be part of the fun too! Our United States Coast Guard licensed captains are highly skilled and trained in water safety so you don’t have to worry.

How many teenagers, kids, and adults can ride at one time?

At one time, our banana boat rides can accommodate up to six passengers of any weight or age.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If the weather is bad, we certainly will not risk your safety. The weather severity will be determined by the captain. If you have booked your banana boat ride in advance, we will reschedule your ride at your convenience. This is why we recommend scheduling your water sport adventures early in your vacation.

Can I wear sunglasses on the banana boat ride?

We recommend that you do not bring anything that you are not willing to get wet or lose. On the ride, you will most likely be better off with a cheap pair of glasses or none at all.

If I am pregnant, can I go on a banana boat ride?

Sorry, but our insurance prohibits any banana boat riders that are pregnant. Hopefully we can accommodate you the next time you visit Point Pleasant Beach.

Do we have to wear lifejackets on the banana boat rides?

Yes! Every passenger, every time! We provide them of course. There are several sizes to choose from accommodating all ages and shapes.

If I am a teenager under 18, do I need parental consent to go on a banana boat ride?

Yes. We must have parental consent for all kids and teens under the age of 18.

How long does the ride last?

The whole adventure takes about 30-40 minutes. The time on the banana is approximately 20 minutes.

How do we get on the banana boat?

The boat leaves from the Point Pleasant headquarters located at 35 Broadway. You just have to get on the boat and let us drive you out through the inlet where you will eventually make the transfer to the banana boat raft. Crew members will be on board to assist with the transfer and anything else you may need.

I see that you offer group rates. How do you accommodate extra large groups (summer camps, sport teams, church groups, etc.) on the banana boat ride?

Just like all reservations, you must schedule your trip in advance. We can schedule back to back trips as well as combination rides (parasailing/banana boat) exclusively for your group.
